Another family Thanksgiving gathering at the cabins in the woods.  We've been doing this since 1989.

Summer Fun in the sun

Jacob made the allstar team and we went to his game in Dover.  Dave & Jan visited with us for a week and we all went to Shawn's for a cookout.

Tom's 60th Birthday Party

About 60 people attended Tom's surprise party.  Shawn did a great job making the video slide show of pictures spanning the 60 decades of Tom's life.  Thanks so much to Shawn, Becky, Melanie, Bob & Loretta for all that they did for this special event.  Tom was very surprised!

Vegas Vacation

June 2007:  Tom and I had a great time in Las Vegas.  Red Rock Canyon was very interesting and so calming compared to the lights and action on the strip.  We enjoyed visiting with Don & Nadine in their lovely home.  The Barry Manilow show was fantastic.  He's still got it.  Everything else that we did there -- stayed there.

Hero in Blue

Thursday:  June 14, 2007

Over 50 people attended Tom's Retirement Luncheon at BENDER's.  Some of Canton's finest shared memories and fond words about Tom.  Tom's farewell remarks were very touching and brought tears to some eyes.  We were then invited to the Detective Bureau for cake.  It was a wonderful and well done event.  I'm very proud of my "man in blue".  He had an honorable and long career.

Izzygate

Izzygate

Izzy wants to be with us all the time, so she taught herself how to open the garden gate when we were out in yard.  Necessity is the mother of invention.  Smart dog!

We all need to practice our Thankgiving talent act to top the one Heather did last year.

April 2007

We enjoyed having the grandchildren during spring break.  Tom tried to teach Abby to golf.  It was beautiful on Palm Sunday, but snowed on Easter Sunday.

Jacob got to be a weather kid on Canton's new radio station My101.7.  He was picked up and brought back in a strectch limo.  He got to stop at McDonalds on the way back but the limo could not fit through the drive thru.  He was great and the youngest weather kid so far.  Mom got back from Florida on April 11th and I have a new grand niece, Sidney Marie Wottle, who was born on my mom's birthday, April 12th.

March 2007

March was a busy month.

Jake was in the Malone College production of AN EVENING ON BROADWAY at the new Johnson Center.  He was one of the children in the performance of "Getting to Know You" from THE KING & I.  Wow, it was a fantastic dinner show.  There was a lot of talent there.  The music was lovely.  I laughed, cried, and was uplifted.

We celebrated Shawn & Melanie's birthdays.

Mel & I tutored grade school children after school at City Hope Church and worked on designing a logo for Church of the Savior's 'TAKE FLIGHT' campaign.

After a few years of dragging my feet, I finally had much needed surgery on my right foot.

Florida Family Vacation

February 2007

We got out of Ohio just before the big freeze and snow.  The sunshine, surf and palm trees of Florida were just what the doctor ordered.  The kids loved Disney World and the Gulf & Atlantic beaches.  We all had a great visit with Grandma Wottle and the kids enjoyed riding around in her golf cart.  We also enjoyed sunbathing and swimming in the various pools at our condo.  The kids wanted to stay forever; but alas, we had to return to the cold and snow of home.

The Iz is 3!

January 2007

Jake & Abby made a cake for Izzy's 3rd birthday and we all sang "Happy Birthday".  Abby went to the pet store to help pick out a new collar for "THE IZ".  Jake stayed home because he doesn't like to shop (unless it's for toys or games for him).  I made a pink blanket for Izzy and bundled her up like a baby.
